Ceremonial Ribbon, Plain and Simple
Throwing a grand opening party but want to keep it simple? You can start by using a plain wide ribbon in a solid color. We have it available in 4 or 6 inch width and it is sold in rolls of 25 or 50 yards depending on your needs. Our colors are bold and vibrant, which should make for a very eye-catching look on stage. Plain ceremonial ribbon can actually look more elegant than one with printed text. Sometimes, text may not be aesthetically pleasing on wide ribbon, especially if the message is generic, too long or the design is too busy. Text looks great when you are having your business logo printed or using a simple font, however, not every grand opening calls for printed ribbon.
The symbolic ribbon cutting is sufficient enough to show the intent of the ceremony. Grand openings are the most popular events that use ribbon cuttings, but if you are already announcing a grand opening and your guests know why they are there, you may feel that reiterating it on the ribbon is overkill. Plain wide ribbon alone is just as effective, especially if you already have other decorations stamped with grand opening text. If you, for example, are using a grand opening banner and grand opening balloons, there is not a real necessity for a ribbon that says the same.
Another reason you may find unprinted wide ribbon useful is that you may not be performing a grand opening. In some cases, a ribbon cutting is used to celebrate a company merger, a charitable cause or to honor an important figure. In these cases, printed ribbon may not be needed; the act of cutting the plain wide ribbon implies the cause. Also, you may find that all you want/need to represent your event is a color. A solid color can represent solidarity with a non-profit or charity’s cause, or it can represent the colors of your brand or new line of products. A combination of colors can work as well. Sometimes, two (or more) different color ribbons are used simultaneously in the same cutting. In these cases, printed ribbon is not necessary; the colors alone do a fine job representing your brand or organization. Regardless of the need, plain wide ribbon is the right choice for any organization.
Even if you opt for printed, plain wide ribbon may still be in your shopping list. While the ribbon being cut can have the ‘Grand Opening’ (or any other) text printed, you can still get plain wide ribbon to decorate the venue where the ceremony is being held. Plain ribbon is a perfect supplement for decorating because it perfectly matches the printed counterpart. You may use ribbon to decorate walls, chairs and the ribbon cutting stage.
Plain ribbon is convenient because you can always save it and customize it later locally. You may not know what message you want on it now but if you have customizing capabilities available to you, buying the blank ribbon puts you fully in control of the printed text or design and it will be much more cost efficient for you if you have the right resources.
